This area of the state consists of Kalamazoo, Kent, Berrien and Muskegon counties, which is located between three to thirty miles east of the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan. Per the 2010 U.S. census, this region has a population greater than 1.3 million.

With a population of over 330,000 individuals, Kalamazoo has much to offer. Within minutes of a meeting venue, it has the arts, restaurants, theater and twenty golf courses.

As the second-largest city in Michigan and the largest city in West Michigan. Grand Rapids has a lot to offer meeting planners. With over 1,400 downtown hotel rooms and the DeVos Place convention center within walking distance of them, it’s a beautiful location along the Grand River. DeVos Place has 162,000 square feet of total meeting space that includes a 40,000 square foot ballroom and more than thirty breakout rooms. Kent County, where Grand Rapids is centered, has over 7,000 hotel rooms.

New Buffalo, Michigan is host to Four Winds Casino Resort. Nestled next to Lake Michigan, the town of New Buffalo is home to 1,900 individuals. 69 miles from downtown Chicago, Four Winds is the perfect location for individuals who wish to drive to their convention from Illinois, Indiana or Michigan.
With 17,000 square feet of meeting space, headliner entertainment, one of two Hard Rock Cafes in Michigan and casino gambling, it has something for everyone!
Here are three unique resort offerings:
- The Silver Creek Event Center is perfect for banquets or annual meetings and seat up to 1,000 participants

The Muskegon Metro area had a population of 172,188 and is also within minutes of Lake Michigan. It is within a three-hour drive of Chicago or Detroit. It also offers a 2.5 boat ride across Lake Michigan from Milwaukee on the Lake Express, that runs from late April to late October.
The county has more than 2,000 guest rooms. The Holiday Inn located in downtown Muskegon can accommodate up to 400 attendees in their hotel while the Shoreline Inn can host up to 250 meeting participants.
